Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026

BenchMetric is a basketball scorebook and statistics application for teams, coaches, statisticians, and players. This Privacy Policy explains what information BenchMetric may collect, why it is used, how it is stored, and the choices available to users.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you create or use an account, BenchMetric may process information such as your name, email address, authentication identifier, display name, and sign-in provider information. Authentication may be provided through services such as Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Firebase Authentication.

Basketball program and roster information

BenchMetric may store information entered by users about basketball programs, teams, rosters, players, jersey numbers, positions, grade levels, availability, roster assignments, notes, schedules, and related team-management information.

Game and statistics information

BenchMetric may store basketball data such as scores, field-goal attempts and makes, free throws, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, fouls, substitutions, shot locations, game events, lineups, practice/development data, and derived statistics.

Optional external profile information

A user may choose to save an external basketball profile URL or identifier, such as a MaxPreps profile reference, for roster mapping or export workflows. BenchMetric does not claim that this creates a direct MaxPreps integration.

Technical and diagnostic information

BenchMetric and its service providers may process technical information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the app, such as device/app version information, authentication status, network requests, crash or error information, and service logs.

2. How We Use Information

3. Local Storage and Cloud Services

BenchMetric is designed so important game data can be stored locally on the device. Some information may also be synchronized through cloud services when connectivity is available.

BenchMetric currently uses Google Firebase services for features such as authentication, cloud database/storage, and backend functions. Information processed by Firebase is also subject to Google's applicable privacy and security terms.

4. Artificial Intelligence

The current core BenchMetric experience does not require an AI service to calculate official basketball statistics. If optional AI-powered features are introduced or enabled in the future, BenchMetric will aim to send only the information necessary for that feature and will update this policy and App Store privacy disclosures as needed.

5. Sharing of Information

BenchMetric does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the app, provide authentication/cloud functionality, comply with legal obligations, protect users or the service, or complete an action requested by the user.

Team data may be visible to other authorized members of the same BenchMetric program according to their assigned role and permissions.

6. Player and Youth Information

BenchMetric is designed for basketball programs that may include student athletes. Coaches, schools, teams, and account holders are responsible for using the app in accordance with applicable school policies, league rules, parental/guardian requirements, and privacy laws.

BenchMetric should not be used to collect unnecessary sensitive information about minors. The app's purpose is basketball operations and statistics.

7. Data Retention

Information may be retained while an account or basketball program is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal requirements. Local data may remain on a device until removed by the user, deleted through the app, or removed with the app/device data.

8. Account Deletion

BenchMetric provides an in-app method to request or initiate deletion of a user account. Account deletion may remove the user's personal cloud profile, authentication account, and membership/linking information, subject to program ownership, legal, security, or record-preservation requirements.

If an account cannot be accessed, contact BenchMetric support for assistance.

9. Security

BenchMetric uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including platform security features, authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted network connections provided by service platforms, and Apple data-protection mechanisms where configured. No system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices

11. Changes to This Policy
